Next-generation actuators defined by NECS
The NECS actuator is an RMA (Repulsive Magnetic Actuator), a repulsive magnetic-type actuator. By leveraging the magnetic field and repulsive force generated between two like-poled magnets facing each other, it enables input sensing, haptics, and sound. Because it responds to subtle changes in the magnetic field, it can produce delicate and diverse tactile sensations as well as audio.
NECS provides a complete kit for development
NECS provides a complete kit for development.
NECS provides development tools (Development Kits) for haptics and audio engineers. Development Kits 1 and 2 support generating and sending single pulses, burst signals, sine waves, and audio files/waveforms across the 40 Hz–20,000 Hz range. NECS also offers the G-Force Measurement Kit (Development Kit 3), which measures vibration output in real time from an attached module or final product in response to the actuator input signal, enabling verification through data and graphs.
With NECS Development Kits 1, 2, and 3, engineers can quantify haptic and audio performance that is typically perceived qualitatively through fingers and ears with objective measurements, numbers, and graphs.
For any device requiring haptics and/or sound
All-in-One Development Solution for Haptics & Sound
The NECS RMA features built-in input sensing, eliminating the need for separate touch or pressure sensors to deliver haptic and audio feedback. Despite its compact form factor, it can generate strong vibrations. In addition, because there is no physical linkage (e.g., springs) between the input magnet and the output magnet, it can produce delicate tactile sensations and audio using only magnetic-field forces such as repulsion and attraction.
NECS RMA can be applied across a wide range of products that require haptics or sound, including kitchen appliances (refrigerators, ovens, stoves, dishwashers), automotive components (steering wheels, AVN systems, toggle switches, door buttons), wall pads, bidets, water purifier buttons, and more.
